The More Than A Moment Summit explored how the West Midlands arts sector is taking action to ensure equity, investment in, and opportunities with and for the Black Creative Workforce, in order to make radical, long term and permanent change, and rebuild the cultural sector as a place where we can all truly thrive.

Research with Pledge organisations presented at the event, revealed that in the 12 months since the Pledge was launched:

• £852,601 has been invested into the Black Creative Workforce from the creation of new roles and funded programmes.
   
• 79% of organisations who responded re now committed to reporting, capturing, monitoring, assessing and openly communicating data regarding representation, progression and wellbeing of the Black Creative Workforce.
   
• 75% of organisations who responded have reviewed senior roles and enabled processes that continually drive fresh, diverse talent, thinking and vision.
   
• 83% of organisations who responded are communicating anti-racist values, expectations and behaviours through job descriptions, codes of conduct etc.
   
• 43% of organisations who responded have set specific aims, objectives and actions, meaningfully measuring progress year on year.  A further 51% are working on it.
   
• 37% of organisations who responded have produced short, medium and long-term organisational goals in response to their commitment to the Pledge. A further 54% are working on it.
   
• 90% of organisations who responded have eradicated the use of acronyms like BAME and People of Colour.

The Research identifies five key areas that the West Midlands arts sector must focus on in the next 12 months, in order to continue to embed the More Than A Moment pledge. These are:

1. Wellbeing & Transparency 
2. Skills and Training 
3. Education 
4. Value exchange 
5. Goals (Publishing action plans)
